Add a new product

Managing your product catalogue effectively is essential for maximizing sales and providing a seamless shopping experience for customers. This guide will walk you through the steps to utilize a catalogue management feature, allowing you to add products and provide detailed information, manage inventory, optimize search engine listings, set pricing and taxes, organize products into custom categories, and enhance product information with attributes and filters.

Step 1: Adding a Single Product
  1. From Flipshop pro dashboard, go to Products in catalogue from the left menu.

  2. From the Products page, click Add product.

  3. Enter a title for your product, along with additional details. See additional details

  4. Click Save.


Step 2: Organizing in Custom Categories 

You can organize your products into categories to make it easier for customers to find them by category. Here are a few examples of categories that you might create:

  • clothes for men, women, or children

  • items of a certain type, such as lamps, cushions, or rugs

  • items on sale

  • items in a certain size or colour

  • seasonal products, such as holiday cards and decorations

To create a category, click on the categories section in the catalogue from the left menu. This can be shown on your storefront as a category page with products’ list.

To create a category,

1. Click on Add a Category button.

2. Add the categories details and click on save.


To add categories in products

1. Navigate to Catalog -> Products -> Add Product -> Go to Product organisation section

2. Search and select a Category. (Note: Only one category can be assigned to a product)




(Note:- You can also add related products from the product orgainsation)

Step 3: Managing Search Engine Listings

When customers want to buy something, they often search for the item or service on search engines like Google. So to show your store or product & services page as top results, you need to add precise title, description, tags which will be visible on search engines. The process will improving your website to increase its visibility in Google, Microsoft Bing, and other search engines whenever people search for:

  • Products you sell.

  • Services you provide.

  • Information on topics in which you have deep expertise and/or experience.

The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to be found and clicked on. Ultimately, the goal of search engine optimization is to help attract website visitors who will become customers that keep coming back.

To manage search engine optimization of products pages in Flipshop pro 

  1. Edit Meta title, (For eg. 'Test Title')

  2. Edit Meta description, (For eg. 'This is a test description')

  3. Edit Meta keywords 

  4. Edit SEO URL in product page

  5. Add Product tags in product page


Step 4: Pricing and Taxes
To set Price in product page: 
  1. Go to pricing section >> Add Price 

  2. Then Add ‘Special Price’, add this if you want to show a discounted price for  your product.

  3. To complete, select Tax Class, (This is optional) Click here to create tax classes

To set Price for a specific variants
  1. Go to ‘Variants’‘section 

  2. Select the variant, to add price 

  3. Then Add ‘Special Price’, add this if you want to show a discounted price for  your product.

Step 5: Managing Inventory

Inventory management can notify you when a product is about to go out of stock, as well as help you avoid selling items that are out of stock.

1. Navigate to Catalog -> Products -> Add Product ->  Inventory Section

To add inventory in the product: 
  1. Go to inventory section in product page 

  2. Set ‘Quantity’ for total inventory

  3. Set ‘Minimum Quantity’, this defines minimum number of product which can be added in cart

  4. Set ‘Maximum Quantity’, this defines the maximum quantity of product which can be added in cart

  5. Set ‘Subtract stock’ status to ‘Yes’ to allow subtracting of stock from inventory when an order is placed. 

Out of order status on storefront 

  1. Go to ‘Inventory’ section in product page 

  2. Set ‘Out of order status’, this status will be visible to the customer if the product is out of stock. 

To add inventory for a specific variant 
  1. Go to ‘Variants’ section, 

  2. Select the variant, to add inventory 

  3. Add ‘Quantity’ for total inventory

  4. Set ‘Subtract stock’ status to ‘Yes’ to allow subtracting of stock from inventory when an order is placed. 

Step 6: Adding Attributes and Filters

Define attributes such as colour, size, material, and other product variations. Provide detailed attribute information to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.

Configuring filter options to allow customers to refine their search results based on specific attributes.

To add Attributes for a product
  1. Go to ‘’Variants and Attributes” section 

  2. Click on ‘Add attributes to product page’ , if you have not created Attributes you will see ‘Create Attribute Group’

  3. After clicking ‘Add attributes to product page’, You will see Attribute field Search and select the attribute you want to add

  4. Against the attribute Add ‘Text’ to add value in attribute,

For example, For a Ladies kurta, ‘Attribute’ can be Neck Shape, it’s text can be V-neck

To add Filters for a product
  1. Go to ‘’Variants and Attributes” section 

  2. Click on ‘Add Filters’ , if you have not created Filters in cataloging settings you will see ‘Create Filter’ button

  3. After clicking ‘Add Filter’, You will see Filter field,  Search and select the Filter values in which you want to show the product 

For example, For a Ladies kurta, ‘Attribute’ can be Neck Shape, it’s text can be V-neck
